Rubber mat for toolbox bottom?

Where would one find rubber mat to put in the bottom of a crossbed toolbox?

I've never been in the market for it, so I've never actively looked for it.

Tried the place I got the box from, and they didn't show anything on the website.

Would Home Depot or Lowes type stores have it, and just cut to fit?

I used some mesh like rubber mat. It isnt really mesh just sort of looks like it. Comes in a roll. I also lined my tool chest drawers with it as well. I have seen it at Walmart and Bed Bath and Beyond. I think I have seen it at Home Depot as well not sure about Lowes. Look for it where they have shelf liner paper like you would use in cupboards/cabinents. It has held up very well, doesnt slide around at all and doesnt seem to mind the oil and gas that have spilled on it over the years. It has been in there 2 or 3 years and has seemed to not have deteriorated at all. I think rubbermaid makes it but could be wrong on that.

I've seen that stuff.

Main stuff I have in the box is my recovery gear.
Hi-Lift Jack, shovel, axe, chains and a couple reciever hitches,
all bouncing around and making a horrible racket on the roads I like to travel.

I don't think it would hold up well, need something thicker.
I think I'll get a roll of that stuff for my toolchest in the garage though.

Take a look at the rubber flooring material near the carpet and linoleum section at home depot or lowes. You can cut it to whatever size you want.

Cut a piece out of a rubber bed mat. I have kept my old ones around after the spray in lining was done just for those type needs. one is nearly gone.

I completely ruined my old 62 Chev 4x4 carryall with rubber mats. Water got under them, and COMPLETELY rusted out the floorboards before I found out. Because of that, I am very careful about rubber mats and water getting trapped under them. It will never dry out, or if it does, it will take forever.

Or you could use a can of the DIY bed linner. Put a couple of coats to get the desired thickness.

I have a friend who installs carpet. I use a chunk of it - quiets things up nicely. Goes bad, get another scrap. Price = FREE

When i had a cross bed box in my old truck i used some mud flaps. I Got some plain ones new from work and cut them to fit inside. They were pretty thick and durable.

Make friends at your local concrete plant, or rock quarry.

The conveyor belts that they use are about 30" wide X 3/8" thick rubber.

I have several rolls that I use for everything from horse-trailer mats to tool-box mats.

It has lasted me for years, even though the concrete plant was going to discard it; it was worn out for their use.

They gave it to me.

I was at a local feed store ranchers supply and they had a stack of 3/8 to 1/2 mat matterial outside. I thought maybe ranchers used it inside barns or something. Looked like it would be great to use for your purpose. I was thinking about that as I was checking it out.

That sounds like the ticket.

I think they put it in the bottom of horse trailers to give some traction.

Never heard of Attwoods, must be a Canadian thing, eh!.

Was at Home Depot yesterday, and totally forgot to even look.
