Jack Kilby, the inventor of the integrated circuit died today
He is the reason we are able to sit here and do the things we do on computers.

Bet he died not quite as rich as Bill Gates...........

 

I met Jack a couple of times and seen him around the plant a lot. He used to come in and check on some of our special porjects. He was fairly quiet and a really nice guy. He may not have had Gates money, but then, he was definately not the Bill Gates type.

If it wasn't for Jack, Gates wouldn't be were he is today.

 

crobtex, are you one of the TI/Raytheon guys also? I seem to be getting swarmed by them lately.

TI for 35 years. Most of them were fun years, but I don't miss it a bit.
