Razors
I have built straight razors for some over the years. I build knives by the way. Anyway, it takes a brave soul to shave with one. But you either love them or hate them! I just don't ike to shave!

The way I look at it, the depended on things to work, so more often than not, they did. Why re-invent the wheel?

Well, may latest blade gave out this morning, but I had a 3 day shadow.
I'll start over tomorrow with a new blade and try drying it and using cold water.
The old style brush and mug is a good way to go. I have one but never re-ordered or found the soap for it. Post up if you know of a source!!

Currently just off the shelf crap. I am going to try the old fashioned soap and brush though. That's what grand dad used and he never had razor burn. I have ALWAYS had razor burn. Tried shaving in the shower, hot towels, all the gimmicks. Instead of new fangled technogimmicks I'm gonna take a step back and use what the old timers do. EVERY TIME I do that, wether it be gardening, farming, raising cows, etc., etc., it works WAY better.

I have been using ATRA blades for 30 years. I was mowing a backlot for a customer (located next to a trucking terminal) and ran up on a cardboard box. Opened it up to find a whole case of refils for the ATRA razor. I had to buy a handle to use them. Still have a goodsized ammount left.
I get several uses out of each blade (they are twin blades with a teflon strip) shaving usually twice a week as I get out of the shower. I have found them to be "rougher feeling" and less life to shave without a shower first. I use "Foamy" as the cream.
