Got it. I forgot that posts here aren't really posts. Maybe they're fence posts, or post it notes or something. Hmmm.
Even though he didn't post, I was able to read it.

so the RAM brand will be marketed as such but will still bear the dodge name and emblems in or on the trucks. still not sure what the point of calling it RAM instead of DODGE RAM is though. other than it gives this guy his president and CEO status hence a big paycheck. and a ginormous bonus.
he said "The problem is that whenever we did research and asked people what they thought of when we said "Dodge," they answered "truck." so why seperate dodge from the name when people associate dodge with truck? seems to be counter productive..... maybe i'm just nuts?!?

After reading that article it is no wonder Dodge is in trouble. They need Ram on its own so Dodge can create its own identity. Because when people hear Dodge they think of trucks. Well

The smartest move would probably be to keep the trucks, the Jeeps and build some minivans. All of those have been really successful. Let Dodge simply mean heavy duty or capable or versatile or inovative. Let the cars be called Chryslers or Fiats or something. And hang on to that Cummins engine for dear life! Or face a deserved fail. Someday, Ford might get it right and if they are competing against a Fiat truck engine in a Ram brand that wants distance from the Dodge name, Ford will win, and we'll be left with a bad choice.
I don't get that PC exec either. If people think of trucks, we'll jetison the truck brand and focus on cars. But the trucks will still say Dodge somewhere. Huh?
Makes me wonder about the future of the Dodge truck. They found a really great formula with the Cummins and the refinements made over several generations. Now they seem determined to destroy it. Sometimes you just have to hang on to success.
