I had a set and got 60,000 miles out of them. I am not hard on tires, seldom ever spin them.

redneck2thamax 02-13-2008 07:55 PM

well thats better than what i got out of these **** bfg's. i have mud terrains and they only lasted bout 10,000 miles and i don't spin them. i won't ever buy bfg's again.
thanks

Got coopers on the duels and they are garbage.

6 months on my company truck and they were done. I personally will not ever consider them.

I have the discover st on mine in the 35...i dont really have a lot of experience with more aggressive tires like this...in the past i have ran like the pro comp extreme all terrains and that..but so far i really like these...i live in laramie, wyoming and do a fair amount of driving up in the mountains and in the snow...now complaints yet....as for tread life i only have a little over 5,000 on them but they still look brand new (even though they probably should)
As for other trucks up here I have seen about 4 other trucks with guys running them...i dont know any of them personally but there out there

I have Cooper Discoverer ATR (IIRC) on my truck. Its my third set. Typically, they last about two years for me, partly because of alignment problems. I find they have good traction in all conditions, including black ice. (By this I mean, I have never had any squirrely problems on black ice with these tires) So, these tires are averaging about 30,000 miles on my truck. They are priced at $150 or so, depending on the amount of "mount and balance" charges. Mine are 265/75/16E. Low road noise and great traction.

Wow, that's bad, do you run pretty heavily loaded or something? We run BFG's on all the ranch trucks (as well as my jeep and my brothers truck) and all of them get way more than 30k out of a set. I've got about 35k on the ones on the jeep with about 40% tread left but i'm running A/T's. But cooper makes a good tire as well, so give them a go, but i don't think you're gonna notice a big diff. in treadwear over BFG's.

I have also always had good luck with the BFG's. They work great in the snow and seem to wear great. ( atleast for me) .

I have about 30k HARD miles on mine, and about half the tread left. Discover S/Ts.

Coopers suck. I've had several pair. Never wore one out.

NO problems here!

I've had the Discoverer ATR's on the dually for the past 2 years, about 25000 miles. No problems at all! Very good on and off road traction, quiet on the road. Even make it up my driveway in the snow before I plow (1500 feet up a 14% grade).

ya i don't run heavy loads on my truck at all. ive pulled a 16' bumper pull loaded w 5 ATV's but thats probaly one of my heaviest.

I have hated every pair I have owned and driven on but the S/Ts.
