Quads
I believe that's a Rincon, as one of the guys I ride with runs one. Ftltmp's obviously is not stock (and looks cool).
The Rincon is independent rear suspension, and has a 3 speed auto with torque converter, but can be put into pushbutton shift mode.

More on break in: I was told once that 2 stroke pistons, especially forged, expand more from heat the first couple of times they get hot, and calm down after they have had a couple of heat/cool cycles- so they can benefit from a few initial cycles of running for a few minutes and cooling.

Thanks, It is a 2005 ,I have cut the carb spring for quicker throttle response, 2" exh tip, and itp c series wheels. The tires in the pics are 589's but I have changed them to mudlites. There are a few more pics in my gallery.

While we're on the subject....anybody know how to bump up the idle speed on a '06 TRX450ER?
Did some low speed stuff over the weekend and it seems she'll stall at the drop on a hat. It also sounds like someone rattling a can of marbles at idle (kinda like a Powerstroke) but I guess that's normal, it's always sounded like that. It'll sure purr when the throttle's opened up.....

Here is my Yamaha Kodiak 400, which I bought new in 1994 loaded up, and hauling out to truck yet ANOTHER 4 pt. elk
from the MOUNTAINS OF ALBERTA this fall(14kms in). Unbelievable tough machine, the amount I put it to hard work summer and fall. Only had to replace rear diff bearing, because of being submerged in a river for too long, and too deep, then freezing, it tore apart bearing cage. I've been looking at all the new quads to buy another one(and keep this one). I am going to buy a Can-Am(outlander), through my research they appear to be the market leader.
Cowhand, just go on jet it.
Mine was like that. It was very easy to kill, and I mean very easy. It was very lean from the factory because they have to meet green sticker laws in Cailf.
I think I used a
178 main
75 poilt
55 leak jet
Bumped the needle up on click
Seems to work pretty good but I'd like to run a richer needle taper because when I jetted mine the HRC needle wasn't out yet so I had to make do. That helped mine alot.
I also added a 1 tooth to rear spocket. Still not as low geared as I'd like it to be but addin 2 teeth to the rear and the chains rubs the skid plate. Take off 1 tooth in the front (like addin 3 teeth in the rear) killed my top end, I was only able to hit about 72 mph. All factory it ran 78 mph. Factory gearin with the HRC kit got it to 80 and then the HRC kit with one tooth in the rear dropped the top speed to 76 so I'm happy right now.

There is an idle adjusting screw on carb, crank it up first so it will stay idling by itself easily, before doing anything to re-jet it(this is a last resort after doing any adjustments first). If there are mix screws which aren't plugged off(most can be pried off), you can fine tune these for your altitude, or if you have stumble, bog etc. once fully warmed up. Also check your choke for proper movement, to ensure it's not stuck or binding etc.
Word of caution, get a starting point of where mix settings are at NOW, so you can have your baseline to revert back to
. As usually adjustments only require a SMALL amount of movement, to fix problem, or to improve performance throughout the powerband.
