pulled titanium from my leg
haha! i could almost put money on when it's going to rain the next day. there are variables, like a few days after i go snowskiing, wakeboarding or backpacking for example, then it just hurts no matter what. but it's pretty close to right on! i can think of several times when i told the guys at work on a clear day that it's going to rain tomorrow, they argue and tell me the weatherman called clear skys, no chance and whaddya know...they were wrong.
I know that feeling
I have 14 plates, 57 screws and two plastic vertebrae in my body that will never be removed.
Sure is fun to look at the security people at the airport all shifty eyed, then dart through the metal detectors

i never got the joy of doing that, do you have stainless hardware? that's a lot of stuff! i was told titanium won't set off the detectors cause it's not magnetic, i was so disappointed when i heard that...but stainless isn't magnetic either so what's the deal?

six weeks until i'm cleared to ski, i already have my season pass and my brand new twin-tip skis from two years ago, got to use them once last year.
they're K2 Enemy's with Salomon S9000 bindings, SOOOO much fun!
Wow, I sure can relate to those pictures.
I had the screws in my left leg removed. The titanium button on the back of my forearm will be there for good I am told. It holds the sutures that go through the bone that attach to the bi-ceps tendon.
My older twin brother Lary is the mecca of metal.

Got one of them in my femur too. I think I need to schedule getting it taken out as well. Back wqhen I started therepy, one of the anchor screws was interfering with the tendons in my knee so they took it out. Now it seems the pin is working it's way back out a bit. Couple other odds and ends too. That titanium stuff is lighter than air, isn't it?
Mine is Stainless and they can detect it
Generally they make me go back and forth through the detector several times making sure I have nothing in my pockets, no belt buckle, shoes off and then they still can't figure it out. haha
They use a hand held unit and it sounds off when they are near my legs, arms and head, they finally decide I am OK and let me pass. This is why I do the shifty eyed thing and dart through, I know they are going to put me through the ringer any way, so I get a little fun in return for the aggravation I know is coming.

i had problems with the screws in my knee, too, the long screw was sticking out both sides with the tendons rubbing on it every time i moved. makes me queasy just remembering it.
lary, keep up the good work keeping the security guards paying attention. i bet they're so bored that they jump right on the occasion like crazy. always make sure you've got shifty eyes and are figity!
scotty, that sounds really painful. what'd you do?
