Presentation Subject

I need to do a presentation for a class, the presentation doesn't have to be for a month or so, but I need to tell the professor what I'm doing it over by the weekend. I'm thinking something diesel related, anyone have any ideas? I it needs to be 10 minutes long at least.

Renewable energy and it's usage on the example of biodiesel- analysis of the changes for the individual.

Bickering on internet forums- or why is a benevolent dictatorship better for communication than unruled freedom on the example of DTR vs ....... (no name calling) ;)

Foreigners presenting weird presentation ideas.... and the impact thereof on the mind of the american student (will allow you to go there skunk drunk :D )

That might work. I wonder when Beagle1 will come in here saying to do it about potato bugs.

Don't make it too complicated or involved. [nonono]
Is it going to be PowerPoint, or some other medim? Will you be settin up sometype of deminstration?
What ever it is, your audience must be able to under stand it.
There are 3 steps in a presentation.
1. Tell them what you are going to tell them. One clear consice statment.
2. Tell them.
3. Tell them what you told them.

Keep us updated on what you have planned for your presentation.

good luck

It will be Powerpoint, I was thinking it would be nice to have an example to show them, but if I do something other than explain the properties of diesel and small sample of how it burns, I will have to do it all with Powerpoint and not Powerservice.

show them how to hom brew bio diesel !

HappyGA 02-15-2007 04:26 PM

do it on the potential energy that fuels have, show a quick clip of a gas vehicle moving around, then a diesel truck smoking as it takes off, then show the space ship taking off. Then you can have a demonstration for the rocket using aking soda and vinegar in a bottle with a cork. the mixture represents the way the fuesl of a rocket as they mix and then combust. DO some research on potential energy. You can also throw Newton's third law or which ever it is on inertia... You can rant on that for a min before the video.

just an idea, that is one I did in 4th grade, got me an A+

Pootatu bugs are always an option, if you're going for a more "emotional" presentation.

Biodiesel is a braindead stupid presentation. Tons of things readily available for it; numbers, growing and refinement processes, history, relatively original. It's about the easiest thing you can give a presentation on.

What class is it for? I can imagine that you are expected to do research on the matter?

If it's for English or Public Speaking class just paraphrase the Wikipedia article and bibliography and go for it.

If you have to come up with an original research thesis, then I would go with something like "The Viability of Biodiesel Production in Hutyiagaland", "The Potential Impact of Biodiesel Adoption on the Tri-Cone Drill Bit Industry" or "The Pseudo-Osmotic Factors of Biodiesel in Relation to Metallurgical Density Cavitation of Heavy Trace Minerals Involved in Severe Operation Processing Industries". (For Political Science, Economics and BSology, respectively.)

Altough I'm not going to pretend like I'm any good at finding the research topic that wont require a 5 million dollar grant and a Master's dissertation to adequately address... [duhhh]

You could do something over alternative crops for bio-energy production. Such as sugarcane, canola, etc. From there you can go into units of energy that are obtained compared from each crop.

Duallydog 02-16-2007 12:12 AM

I'm thinking more along the lines of engine components than biofuel
And it's just for a Business Correspondence class, it doesn't have to be fancy, I think only one other person in there, besides me, even drives a diesel.

EClancy 02-16-2007 02:17 PM

oh man, i used to hate presentations in school. i had a bad track record w/them...my language was usually too "colorful" for the classroom.[laugh]

last ones i did were on the 5.9 cummins and the emmission differences of 2stroke/4stroke

Duallydog 02-16-2007 02:37 PM

I just sent a message to my professor saying I was doing it over Diesel Injectors. It can be changed right up to the day before the presentation. Could ya'll help on the research for that? If you would, please.

Duallydog 02-24-2007 04:09 PM

I'll take that as a no for helping me find info on injectors.

Begle1 02-24-2007 04:26 PM

Injectors are expensive things that I require to get over 300 horsepower, and require an upgraded turbocharger before I install them.

That's as far as I go. [laugh]

Totallyrad 02-24-2007 04:56 PM

Albeit small, here's my contribution. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/fuel-injection.htm
