Is this POSSIBLE?

I've gto a buddy that drives a 2001 F-350 with a 7.3, so last nite we're having a few beers and talkin about our trucks. He starts to tell me that his truck has 420hp, with just a chip and a program that was on the ecm when he bought the truck. I almost called BS but held my tougne, I've seen what a 450hp 7.3 will do and his truck would'nt touch that one and its a 97. I did tell him that at the last pull of the season to put his money where his mouth is.

I saw on the dyno for myself an 02 7.3 have a stack of an unnamed box plus a 120hp flip chip from Bullydog in there and still only muster 300 to the wheels. I am not familiar with some of the Westers tunes, but I find that hard to believe.

I didnt think so, and the way he drives with that much power the transmission would lay down and die.

I've got a buddy that said his 7.3 would do 13's in the quarter with just a Hypertech and an EZ. The truck was rollin' on 37's too! Didn't want to call B.S. because he can believe what he want's and we'll keep the peace.

there is a clown at work here with a 7.3, on 38's. claims his makes 700+.
all he does is buy the parts, have them installed, reads the magazine ad claims and keeps adding numbers.
like k&n up to 45hp, banks exhaust up 65hp, on and on.

however when confronted by me, he wont race, drag, tug of war, nor go to the dyno shop with me to prove it.

I told a guy that I was shooting for 500hp with the stock injectors. He promptly told me that it wasnt possible and the first mod you should do to any truck is a big set of injectors. He does the same thing with the magazines. Orders the parts, pays someone to install them, and adds up the claimed hp. Told me that he had over 1000 dollars in his edge/juice combo.

Seems like from what I have read so far there are a lot of Ford guys out there paying someone to install their parts. To bad I'd eat rat poison, hang myself and pull the pins on a bushel basket full of grenades before I'd work on another powercrammedinthedarntrucknoplacetomovewhatachoke. Us Cummins guys/gals must be more hands on people....or maybe are engines are'nt a miserable pain in the butt to work on!!!
