Pet owner's/ lost one

Moderators you can move this but I see a lot of guys have pets in their avatar's!

My wife and I just lost one of our dog's lastnight, he had a brain tumor that we didnt know about and it just cought up with him in a hurry. He was fine and all of the sudden within 2 day his health and vision just started going down hill fast, he had a seizure yesterday evening and we rushed him to the Emergency Vet in Hagerstown, MD and by 11:30 lastnight they called and we had to make the worst decision in our lives..... we had to put him to sleep.

I know some might read this and think its just a dog but my wife and I concider our dogs to be our kids and love them very much.
He was an old dog when we got him and we only had him for 2yrs, we found him as a stray and gave him a good home.

Thanks for listening,
Buddy

Very sorry to hear, I just went through a similar situation with my yellow lab. She was having seiziers and trouble breathing as she was gettin old, then in a matter of days all of a sudden she went down hill very fast. She was having like a panic attack breathing, rushed her to the vet, and it just went down from there, and said they could do surgery, but she probly wouldnt make it, and our only choice was to put her down. I live on a beed farm and I see animals come and go, but this was the hardest thing to do, she was with me at ALL times.

This one's good here.

Sorry for your loss. My wife had to put down our dog a month after I left... that was bad. Good on you for taking care of him.

Sorry for your loss...my wife and I loss one of two of our 'kids' last feb. ('08). It's very hard when you lose a loved one. We got them from the pound when they were about 8 wks old, Ethel is 12 now. She's VERY spoiled now, we've tried to see if she'd let another pup come in to the fam., but she won't have it....I wanted her to teach the new pup on what to do, guard the place, show her the ropes so to speak. They had/have full access inside and outside.
Lucy's back legs started swelling, we thought it was arthritus starting in. She is a baby on crying on just barely touching her toe, but when the swelling started, she didn't cry at all (??). It got worse (on swelling), took her to the vet and said her heart is failing, the next morning she waited til we got up to say her goodbye's...........

Wink no worries here...shed those tears!

you are a better human for it. putting them down is the most loved they will ever get. put up the picture, share your fond memories. 26 years of sled dogs here, all furry pals! still missing a fond siberian playmate that i had to GIVE away due to jealousy from my husband. never saw that coming. oh well, we love the personality dogs (cats) let us see!

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I just gave my 46 pound Shetland a big hug & kiss.
Of coarse, he was wondering why I was crying.
I feel for ya.
