Now I'm mad.......

U.S. Border Patrol agents have been ordered not to arrest illegal aliens along the section of the Arizona border where protesters patrolled last month because an increase in apprehensions there would prove the effectiveness of Minuteman volunteers, The Washington Times has learned.
The Washington Times is reporting that supervisors in Arizona have told the front line agents to not arrest any illegals coming across the border.

Can't say what thoughts are going through my mind right now. They're just a weeeee bit on the extremely illegal side. But something has got to be done. If I were a bettin' man, I'd be willing to wager that once the numbers come out on the effectiveness of the Arizona Minuteman project, we'll see similar groups pop up along the entire stretch of the border. Know somethin'?? I'll be one of 'em that volunteers.

Well, I know that no one wants to look stupid at work but...

When do you think these officials forgot about the fact that the very fibre of our country is made up of volunteers heading out to do the right thing instead of wringing our hands? I know there are a lot of crazy people but when was the last time that active community involvement turned out to be a bad thing?

Just watch the news for elected officials asking for us to:

1) be more involved with our kids
2) get more involved in the community
3) get more involved with local schools
4) let LOCAL volunteer and faith based agencies handle homelessness ( a big Bush topic)

yet we citizens can't be trusted to guard our borders?

sigh...
