This Was Not Good
 

For those of us who follow open wheel formula racing,John Surtees lost his son.Watch the yellow and blue car.

Never really followed Formula racing that close, but that is terrible news. Those guys that race open wheel cars like that have some guts, just for the fact that the possibility of getting hit in the head with something is far greater than if it was an enclosed cockpit. I'm an avid race fan and a crew member for an open wheel modified dirt car team, so anytime I hear of an accident like that it really makes me think about how we can make things safer on our car and the tracks we race at.

I can watch that over and over and it just amazes me what a total freak accident this was. Very sad indeed.
