New House update
We are finally setting forms today after removing 4ft of rock from the left hand side of the slab. After leveling the lot I still have 5 feet of slab exposure on the right rear corner of the house, front right is only 18 inches.
It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

Reminds me of a house I built years ago in New Brunswick. We used dynamite to make the hole for septic tank.

Those really huge rocks are going to be used against the driveway. The smaller ones are going to be used for a burn pit in the backyard area. They had to bring a rock breaker out to level that slab Rich, I showed up just as he got done and asked how it was going, guy gave me a downright nasty look. The builder did not disclose the need for that much rock work and tried to get us for another $5k, I put the wife on him and in under 30 minutes he gave up.

Theres nothing like the Hill Country. I might be moving out there in 2 years. Junction area. We have a lease out in junction and mason county line. He's not kiddin about those rocks.

Congrats on building your place Gonzo,<br>I wish I had rock like that under our place up here (and the view also). The DFW area is nothing but clay, houses up here move up and down like see-saws.<br>

The folks doing my slab don't like the work to prep this house but all have said that with the solid sheet of white slate under my house, it will never move.<br>Once the house is done and we have been in for a few days, I have clearance from the CFO to build a 80x90 shop off to the side.. ;D
