New Gas Engine for HD Rams...
Been doin' a lot of research, and here's what I've found...

Looks like the current 8.0L V-10 is discontinued.

Many of us had figured on a "truck" version of the current Viper/SRT-10 8.3L V-10...but I've been told that same technique of conversion won't apply to this new one.

Talked to a couple of guys in the "know", and they all agreed on a stroked version of the current 5.7L (350ci) Hemi V-8. Wanna take a guess on the (rumors) cubic inch size of the new engine?

...I'll give you a hint...when you take a 350 Chevy and stroke it out, what do you get?

To me though, this still seems too small to compare to the 8.1L (496 Big Block) Chevy that is pushing out 450lb-ft, and who knows what the next generation of Ford's big gasser (Either new V-10 or big V-8) will put out torque wise.

Any thoughts? Comments?

Justin.

Re:New Gas Engine for HD Rams...
I think they should outlaw gas motors in heavy duty trucks. :P
I could never understand why anyone would even think of
running a gas motor in a truck like this. ???
MPg is less empty :'( Now put a load on and watch it :'(
Cost of operation and maint. of gas 'V' diesel should turn the thought lamp on ??? ???
IMHO ;D
