Nevada, Nellis AFB troops coming home

I just wanted to post and share with you all, today around noon - we got a message from the Hoover Dam police that the first bus load of troops coming back from IRAQ were about 30 miles south of Kingman and fixn to cross the Hoover Dam.

I mean to tell you - I had tears in my eyes! The Area manager released every one from their jobs to go on top of the dam, with banners, and the American Flag - to welcome them home.

They received a police escort over the top of Hoover - and even the visitors stoped to yell, scream and clap their hands --- welcoming our troops home

So I just wanted to share that with you all... It was quite an experiance!

WELCOME HOME TROOPS!

Send Pics, I wish I could have seen it; along with my late father-in-law beside me in his WWII Navy uniform. Good post. Nathan

I'll bet it was quite a sight ... for both service member and spectator.

I'm sure glad to hear some more have made it home.

Can't say enough thanks to them.. And that had to be a grand sight, all them coming over the Dam in convoy.

I'm still waiting for pictures to be e-mailed out...

They are not much to see, just the 2 busses and police escort I'm sure. They should have gotten an escort all the way thru town as far as I'm concerned. Their familes waiting to reunite after 18 months...

But as soon as I get the pictures, I will definately post them!
