Need your advice with a different vehicle

Come to the conclusion that even though a Subaru is a very fine car it's too small for a person my size. After my knee surgery, I found out there was not enough leg room in the front seat, so I had to lay across the back seat while the wife terrorized me with her driving.
So what could you recommend for an alternate? I need to be able to get in and out easily and stretch my legs out.

Would re mounting the seat further back on a custom bracket work?
I know they sell brackets that do just that for the old A, B and E body Dodge muscle cars.
My buddy in AK had to sell his E body Challeger as he was just too big to comfortable fit in it.
He is now building a car that reminds me of Christine, though I think it is one year off the movie / book car.

Can't reposition the seat on the Subaru. I need something with a longer door opening and leg room. It also needs to be all/4 wheel drive. The Subaru is primarily the wife's car and is fine for here. But when I can't drive, I need something I can easily get in and out of. I wish I could find a Ramcharger, But they are hard to come by up here that are in any kind of decent shape. She can't drive my trucks.

I've had a few Cherokees, but it has the same problem. Door opening not long enough. Once in though, it does have a little more leg room.

Toyota FJ? They're boxy and roomy inside, but a lot of blind spots....not sure what your budget req's are but you are going to pay extra for room and comfort.

My budget went out the window with my lay off. I'll have to pick this up at a later date.
