Need help for the father-in-law

I know this is not a great to post this, but I can not get any info from the ford forums. I also know how helpful Cummins owners are, so this may be the best place.

My father in law had a small electrical fire on his 89 F-250 with a 460. I need to find an inexpensive wre harness for the truck. This is his farm truck with the bale bumper and keg feeder. He doesn't want to spend much money, and still keep this truck going. I am trying to talk him into buying a CTD to replace his everyday driver, but he is pretty hard headed.

I am sure I could just re-wire the small portion that burnt, but I am out of town for 2 weeks and have not been able to actually look at it myself.

What I am looking for is whether or not another model truck or bronco harness in that year range would just hook right up, or if it has to be from an 89 with the 460.
Thanks for the help.

I think an auto dismantler is your best bet to start with. They have the Hollander's Interchange books that tell what parts swap across years and models. They may also have the harness you want, or you will at least have the cross reference info. to locate one otherwise.

I know it might be a little more expensive but maybe Painless Performance has what you are looking for?

Where you located? I've got an '82 that you can have if it will work, but you'd have to take it off. I'm saving the truck for body parts for an '84 F250 diesel I use for the same thing.

If you find it works and want it, email me.
