Nat'l Electric Drag Racing Assoc.

Saw on article on NEDRA in this month's Car and Driver. Thought it was pretty cool. Basically, all the vehicles are "hybrids". The main car in the article (a 1972 Datsun) makes 772 ft. lbs at ZERO rpm It has about 30 12V batteries.
Apparently, it can whoop up on a lot of contenders (106 MPH @ 12.151), not bad for an all electric vehicle.

NEDRA Website

The article in C/D states they are sanctioned by NHRA.

Dang, that's fast, especially for a battery. Talk about the ultimate sleeper. I think I see a challenge for pinks.

Electric is the way to go for torque. I would go that way in a minute if i could get one that would go more than a few miles on a tank or battery full.
