The Myth Busters busted the myth that an airplane could not take off from a giant conveyor belt matching the speed of the wheels in the oposite direction. The airplane flew!

Seeing as how the scenario given in the original thread would be physically impossible to duplicate, I STILL say there is no way that thing flies. ;)
