Back in Highschool, a friend had an s-10 w/ 4.3L V-6.
I thought it was a beast of a truck. (small, but powerful)

Anyway, watching trucks on spike, they mentioned their truck had a hundred something. So I looked it up. My buddies truck had 165 HP!!! thats five less than my Nissan.

Anyone else have a vehicle or a friends vehicle that you thought was awesome that turned out to be alot less than you thought?

 

I had a 91 S-10 in high school. 4.3, 4x4, short box, reg cab, with a 5 speed and 3.73s. That thing was a blast to drive. I loved it and wish I had never sold it. It was amazingly fast for what it was. I made a few v8 cars wonder what was going on in some impromt drag races. Oh and abougt your Nissan having 5 more horse,,,,,,,Its still a Nissan. I would put my old S-10 up against it any day if I still had it.

 

They made a turbo version of the s-10. I test drove one. It was called the cyclone and the typhoon was the blazer version of it. That thing kicked some butt. I should have bought it.

 

Someday I will own one of the 2. I still like the idea of a S-10 that will woop most any sport/muscle car in a 1/4 mile run. Dont quote me on this but if memory serves me correctly back in 2 years they where made they where the fastest production vehicles made in the 1/4 mile. Even faster than the untouchable 911. Some day I will own one for a Sunday cruiser/cruise nite toy.
