We had our travel trailer broken into in a repair yard in SoCal and about $2000 worth of guns and electronics were stolen. The cops wouldn't come out and only took a report over the phone. You can guess how much good that did and how long before we got out stuff back.

The yards insurance company refused to cover it because there wasn't any negligence on the part of the yard. We didn't have insurance for the contents.

Big city cops have far to much to do to bother with piddly stuff in some places. I won't say exactly where it was but suffice it to say I no longer care much for the Peoples Republic of California.

Hey bud, don't let that idiot and low priority cops get you in trouble.

Nothing lower then a liar a theif and a druggie! And these days, they all seem to go hand in hand.

Unfortunalty for both of our CTD thefts (one attempted) The cops came out. The first was recovered after three days, the other never left the parking spot. The Crime lab came out and pulled prints and looked for anything else.

My point is even with them showing up it did no good. They never caught anyone. My insurance was out $31,000 between the two and I was our $4-5K. At this point all we can say is oh well.

Tulsa theives like to hit dodge trucks. A guy at work got hit a couple years ago in December, they trashed his dash and stole his coat and some tools. He ended up having to drive home with a broken window and no coat.

sorry to hear about that.

Mine got broke into from the passenger side back in Feb. Took my cd deck but left my radar detector, check book, subs, amp, etc. Called the cops as well, they did the police report via the phone. Said you could have them come out and "finger print" and do an investigation but it would be a little bit. I didn't even bother with it. The more I thought about it, there was no way they were going to catch these guys, much less have time to deal with it. In the end it wasn't even worth it to claim it on insurance with my deductible. All in all it cost me around $500 and that doesn't include the cracked bezel around the dash. Oh well, bout a Sig 9mm the next day....

If there is CCTV cameras around, you might threaten the apartments with legal action for not providing security for your property.
