Mud tire damage

I had a rear tire seperate on me this weekend and do pretty good damage to my truck. The tire was a Cooper/Durango MT. It tore out the inner skirt and my rear running board, flattened my quater panel. Hope I can link this pic properly....

I'd be getting hold of cooper ASAP. That's ridiculous.

I got a hold of cooper. They want 3 est. the first was $2685.88. And for me to send them the tire for the lab to look at. I'm have'g my insurance take care of it all and sue them for the money. They said it works better that way. Here's some links of cooper tire problems. Kinda scary

Is that a new style "turn-down" exhaust???

I've seen that happen to fully restored muscle cars - multiply your estimate by 5 - it's a shame... :( :o

Hope they buy a new bed...:D

Had the same thing happen to a company chevy 3/4 ton, except it did additional damage to the front panel as well. A local company fixed (did not replace bed) and cant tell anything happened at all. The shop took less than a week to repair it was less than $1500 (company paid w/o battling it out). Good Luck

Friend of mine had his Cooper Discoveries blow out on him while running 70MPH down the highway unloaded.

On a 300mile round trip, one tire blew out on the way there, and the other on the way back.

Imagine our suprise when he left in the morning with a good lookin' truck, and returned with both bedsides nearly ripped out (Just like yours Wade)

Cooper is supposedly going to pay for his bed. He just has to send the tires in.

i lost a general ameritac 550 going about 65 unloaded, the tires were a little less than half tread. then i lost another on the other side less than 1k miles later. i shipped the one back to continetal and i need to send them the estimats. my dually bed looks like crap now, but i got lucky and picked up another bed. guess i will waite and see if they treat me right.

I've ran nothing but Cooper's for about ten years now. Over the years a lot of street tires (can't remember the name) but got from 60-80,000 miles out of them with never a problem. Discover A/T's on the wifey's Expedition. Got 55,000mi out of the first set with no problems. Run Discover STT's (in my opinion the best mud tire you can buy for the money) on the RAM with out any problems so far. If wear pattern's stay consistent I will probably get 40-50,000 miles out of them, which I think is pretty good for a mud tire. Most of those miles are unloaded. But I've had them right up to the limit before also. Just my .03, Sorry about your fender:( . I hope Cooper treats you right.
