LoL! I don't know why it strikes me as being funny.
If I lined some Viagra up for my Father in-law and he drops dead on his wedding night I wonder how the papers would portray me.
Would they arrest me? Would my cellmates respect me?
Wonder if my kids would disown me.
Maybe they would give me my old office back at the station/jail.

Ya know... I really dont know.

I know, you can legally bring certain "prescription" drugs into the country for personal use. I dont know how giving them to your dad falls into "personal use"

If you read the ingredients on a package of viagra, you will find it is relabeled "fix-a-flat".

Well folks, I think it is time to turn the wick(in the lamp - not mine) down for the night. DW and I have been sitting here listening to good country music for the last couple of hours. Songs like Jolene, Country Roads (I think that one is about Top's neck of the woods), Mamma Tried and finally The Devil Went Down to Georgia. There were a bunch of other good 'uns but I might have had an extra glass of melancholy tonight so I can't remember all of them. See y'all in the morning.

No Hugh Heffner in fact she has more $ than him.

Glad you are enjoying yourself Heidi. Sometime we will be there at the same time as you (21 more days for us).

Gnight also (Im gonna act like I didnt see the wick comment or the fix-a-flat) .
Raining here. Been reading with a few candles lit.
We were being a little melancholy also and she put on some of that Bread, Eric Carmen, Al Stewart sort of mid 70's stuff.
It doesn't make me puke if we dont listen to it very often.
Gonna have to dig out the vinyl country stuff if it keeps raining.
Wish it would snow because than its rock and roll.

Everyone observe what you've done here; All the Viagra talk and now she wants to 'Ride Horseback' with someone here at DTR. This is why we have RULES people!

Happy Monday!

It's September already and there's only 112 days until Christmas!

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd:

1783 - The Revolutionary War between the U.S. and Great Britain ended with the Treaty of Paris.

1833 - The first successful penny newspaper in the U.S., "The New York Sun," was launched by Benjamin H. Day.

1935 - Sir Malcolm Campbell became the first person to drive an automobile over 300 miles an hour. He reached 304.331 MPH on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.

1939 - British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, in a radio broadcast, announced that Britain and France had declared war on Germany. Germany had invaded Poland on September 1.

1943 - Italy was invaded by the Allied forces during World War II.

1954 - "The Lone Ranger" was heard on radio for the final time after 2,956 episodes over a period of 21 years.

1967 - In Sweden, motorists stopped driving on the left side of the road and began driving on the right side.

1976 - The U.S. spacecraft Viking 2 landed on Mars. The unmanned spacecraft took the first close-up, color photos of the planet's surface.

1989 - The U.S. began shipping military aircraft and weapons, worth $65 million, to Columbia in its fight against drug lords.

1994 - Russia and China announced that they would no longer be targeting nuclear missiles or using force against each other.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
No matter how hard you try, you can't baptize cats.

Coffee is ready.

Oh, and I wasn't ignoring the accusation that I had bought a Stihl. I just didn't know how to tell you, but you're right, I did. It's their newest model, just released a few weeks ago and I HAD to have one. I must say I've been a bit disappointed with it tho:

Only 3 kinds of people buy Stihls; those that don't know any better, those that can't AFFORD anything better and those that want to give the impression they'd be working if their saw would run.

Morning to you too Shorts and the rest of the family. Enjoy the southern Rockies JWBM. My brother-in-law runs extreme 7 day running and mountain biking events. At his race in Colorado a couple of weeks ago one of the stages involved 5 hours of running between 10,000 and 12,000 feet as they went back and forth across the continental divide. Running at that elevation for hours on end doesn't sound like fun to me. Crazy athletes.

Have a good Labor Day everyone. We have friends coming over in a couple of hours to get fresh veggies. They moved to Cyprus 4 years ago just before the economy crashed. They moved back to Calgary last week with the shirts on their backs and that is about it. That is a long story but the highlight was when their house builder fled the country with their last payment and house not done. That was the final straw and they came home. They are good friends so it will be nice to see them. It wil be even nicer to load them up with fresh food. The garden is still producing more than 20 lbs of veggies per day and our freezers are full. We are overrun and the freezers of our family members are full too. I like pickles but even I can't eat a 1 quart jar of dill pickles per week.

Cincy, those combo horse / human quarters gooseneck trailers are really common and popular in this neck of the woods. You should check out Kijiji Calgary and Airdrie Trailers. I won't lie though, they aren't in the same snack bracket as the ultralight ultra cheap and ultra poor quality travel trailers that have flooded he market these days. With the weight of 3 or 4 horses, tack, feed and water for the horses you really wouldn't want an ultralight combo trailer.

If you found one up here that you wanted and you needed to store it a while until you could get up here to pick it up, just let me know. I just might have space.

I just checked. There are a couple of Sundowners in Kijiji Calgary for about $32k CDN.

Actually just found an 2008 Exiss 4 horse slant with a 10ft short wall. Guy is getting divorced and just wants to sell for what he owes. Going to look at it today.
