million dollar idea
I was thinking today ( and yes it hurt a little ) that I would really like to get my windows tinted but I can't see to back up the way it is.. soooo why is it that someone has not figured out a way to put the technology that they use in eye glasses (the auto tinting kind) so that when you are inside ( or dark ) they are clear and when you get in the sun they auto darken. I think this would be a great idea. I would love to have this on my side windows of my truck. I am giving this idea to whoever wants to come out with it if someone hasn't already. ( I would just ask for a small finders fee)[laugh] . what do all of you think ???
|
actually what i want to do is somewhat like what welding masks do, They have that lil ground button or whatever it is and it turns the mask clear, but the second it gets the uv or what not from the rod it auto darkens, So when the officer pulls ya over, sir your windows where really dark, then you roll it down, hum you didnt seem to notice it was up?

I can see it now! ANOTHER OPTION! [laugh]
Thanks guys, Dodge is now gonna have the "Dimmer package" and I'll have to pay more for my "09" CTD. I think both of these ideas are great! |
Here's another idea that I heard of years ago but it never came to life. The idea was to have windshields polarized vertical and head lights polarized horizontally. I'm sure most of you have played with two polarized lenses and rotated them too block light. Seems like another million dollar idea.

with polariziation like that you wouldn't be able to see your own lights:eek:

Rear view mirror in the truck dims headlites at nite. Have same option on wifes T&C, on side mirrors also. Takes a bit of getting acusstom to, but works great.:D
|
They do have a tint that will auto fade away... I saw it somewhere before and it was mostly used on high dollar jets and it wasn't too cheap.

The Lexus's, and probably other luxury vehicles, have a screen for the rear window that the driver can put up when the sun is coming in from the rear of the vehicle. Maybe something like this is in the offing with Mercedes calling the shots.

The Maybach has a sunroof on which the opacity can be electrically controlled. Bad news is, it's uglier than sin and costs >$300,000. www.maybachusa.com

I've had the same idea about window tint for several months now. Mine are tinted to legal, 35%, and they're not dark enough. My brothers window are tinted to limo and I can hardly see to drive (at night) with them.

Yes I thought of the electrically tinted windows about 28 years ago and never did anything about it. Much the same as the welders helmet individually controlled windows and mirrors that might have patent # ???? 5. Oh well
