Question M P3 Player ???

I am still trying to catch up with the seventies and know little (actually none) about all this "hi-tech" stuff.

My question is, I have an in-dash stereo in my truck that has a receptacle that one can plug in a remote CD-player.

I have one of those tiny MP3-player gizmos that stores a bunch of songs.

Can I cobble up some kind of cord that will allow me to play this MP3 through the trucks stereo/speakers ??

I am thinking maybe splice an old ear-phone jack to whatever jack plugs into the stereo.

Will this work ??

Thanks.

if its a cassett player, they make adapters for that purpose,
they look like a cassett with a cord on it.

A stereo patch cord should work.Just a 1/8th or "mini" stereo phone plug on each end of the patch cord or whatever plug the receptical the truck radio needs on one end and whatever the headphone jack needs on your MP3 player. You can also buy a small adapter that the MP3 player connects to that plugs into your cigarette lighter that transmits the audio through your FM radio tuned to a specific channel for cheap on ebay then you can use your MP3 player in any vehicle that has an FM radio.Ron G

not sure what truck you are talking about, but what you need is called an aux input converter...

I had one on my 01 GMC and my 04 RAM... connects to the external CD changer interface and gives you a right/left audio input...

this place is a great source and can help you find the right one to match your vehicle..

The stereo in the truck is AM/FM-cassette with the receptacle for plugging in a seperate CD-player.

I will sort through my junk and see if I can come up with the right plugs and try a home-made cord.

In an old Cherokee that we traded for, I found a CD-player that was attached to a cassette-on-a-cord adapter, along with a couple hundred acid-rock and rap CDs that got converted into shims.

If my home-made cord don't pan out, I will try one of those MP3-cassette adapters.

Thanks.
