from the land of fire and ice ....

Hi all, from Hawaii (the Big Island), I am new to this forum and want to say aloha (intro, hi, bye, love and etc.). Dodge Ram Cummins trucks are of interest, having 2 twelve valve W250 4X4 as well as: My pet build, a 2002 24 Valve Ram 1500 4X4 nearing completion. The 1500 started out as an automatic 4X2 club cab with long bed. It now sports a 136 inch frame, ISB 24 Valve with 5 speed manual and a short bed. This has been a ground up conversion and quite a learning experience, I even got to experience some buying of parts off of eBay.
Hopefully I will be able to help others should they have questions about such a project and perhaps someone may help me.
I am thinking of re-powering a 2000 Ram 1500 quad 5 speed 4X4 with a 12 valve as an automatic for my 16 yo grandson.

Will post pictures soon, project is going well. LoL Fronty, we learn something everyday, have an ongoing eruption, started in Jan 1983, dumping lava into the ocean. Snowed past Sunday night < http://s239.photobucket.com/albums/ff73/Sanae11/ > and we do have perma-frost.
Aloha y'all, - Bill http://s239.photobucket.com/albums/ff73/Sanae11/

Welcome to DTR !!

I got to spend a day on the Big Island about 15 years ago. I loved it. Got to go walk around on the slightly cooled lava flow ... poked a stick in it and scooped some up. A buddy of mine poured his beer on it to cool it down. I still have that little chunk of paradise ( Don't tell Pele ).

They have a very large ranch there with lots of cattle and everything. I was sure surprised to learn that.

You are a lucky dude !! What do you do for a living out there ?

Cheers,
PISTOL

You're exactly right Pistol its the Parker ranch at one time it was the largest ranch in the US not sure if it still is or not. They love to rope and a bunch of the guys used to come stay with my old boss in Stillwater so they could rope in the USTRC finals at Guthrie.

Heya Fronty a friend in Oklahoma told me that whenever it rained at her house, the crawdads would come to the surface in her yard and her dogs would go nuts.
Cool PistolWhipt, hey lets go into business I can ship that black stuff out by the container load, sell it as "pet rock cure all." Make allot of money and buy a quadcab with 6.7 to play with. Pistol, I live in the town that headquarters the Parker Ranch, was raised by my own ranching family and so interacted with the Parker owner and sons, they're gone now . BTW I work for an international security outfit and service client "plain clothes." Not Blackwater but one of our Hawaiian guys was killed, burned, hung on bridge last year. He was from small sugar plantation community where wife was born and raised.
Anyone interested, check my public profile at http://www.myspace.com/sanae11 the thumbnail is in Austin TX. Another profile is http://www.myspace.com/lpa_hawaii I believe my wife is on the firing range in the "pics" album, with my S&W 4006 stainless "ccw."
Aloha y'all

Hey guys, dieselfuelonly, thunderdawg, tbarbee1, fronty, pistolwhipt, and wurkenman, thanks for the welcome.
Sounds like a cool combo wurkenman, re: 2002 quad cab auto with 4" exhaust and '97 converted electra glide. Duhno but I think you have the better frame, I had a 97 road king with the square frame. It's sold but have my 1976 FLH shovel, "fuchsia" color with with graphics, hehehe real girl color. Yup its a magnet with a solo seat, remember I mentioned wife, S&W 4006 SS in earlier post? LOL this is a smart Hawaiian - Ciao

Aloha y'all

I thought Pele frowned on sending her rocks off the island...
yea, there are some places where the crawdads are bad. my parents house is one of those places. after a good rain you sit outside with the pellet gun and shoot them as they crawl out...
