Lake Tahoe area

Any of you fellow CTD owners from this area? Is it pricey? whats the general climate there? Is this very far from Sacramento?...I see its a few hours away but is the drive a long highway scenario or is it tight congested? Any other information that you don't read in mapquest would be appreciated.

Thanks

I am honored to have an open invitation to some places in Tahoe. let's see :

first, sacramento is not a bad drive about 1.5 hours due to the people driving ahead of you (two lane each one direction highway) and the 30 degree curves at the guardrail. very, very scenic. awesome in fact. traffic moves fast and you are never 'stuck' in CA traffic like BELOW sacramento..... it is mountian climate Hot days with cold winds, wet cold nights. internet can help ya there with a history...

yes, the lots are very high dollars. even for open land, no improvements.
which may be higher as they are 'unspoiled'. anything with a view of the lake is 200,000 and up. if you want to be 'in the city' around tahoe, there is OLD TAHOE towards the southern end of the lake. that has 70s type homes for 80,000-110,000 but the convenience of city and lake access within a bike ride. casinos there also. you pay for everything in the city, garbage, water, etc. and more traffic (think at the corner intersection and speeding out to catch a small gap type traffic) everyone thinks they are very important.
very diffent thinking in different neighborhoods, so a realator is key to helping you be comfortable in an area.

I hope that helps you out. great state parks and private boat launches.

I went to school in South Lake Tahoe. Lived there for about 10 years before my parents move down to the Carson Valley. I like it down the the Carson valley better. Down there you have no tourist, more house for your buck, with all the lake you want just 25 minutes away. My senior year in high school I drove over the pass everyday. Here is a pic from what my parents get to look at everyday.Lake Tahoe area-picture-411.jpg

It's not far from Sacramento a couple of hours some days and you can't get there some days. Yes it's a senic drive.

You don't need A/C in the summer and it sounds like they are getting much needed snow fall right now. Tahoe has been in a drought for a few years.

The lake is a site to behold. There is some great 4x stuff there too. The Rubicon trail is there.

Around the casinos it gets real crowded with the economy as it is it might not be that bad now.

If you are going there in the winter 4wd is nice thing to have. They plow the main drags pretty quick but the side streets get second billing.

If you are looking to buy the real estate runs the gambit from a few hundred thousand to a few millions.

What else do you want to know?
