Jack FM

So we have a radio station called Jack fm in Vancouver, come down here to Dallas to find the same station complete with the same voice doing the intro's, the same format etc.
So what other markets have a Jack fm radio station??

Station I listened to religiously suddenly dissapeared a couple weeks ago only to be replaced by Jack FM.

Pretty sure it is the same satellite fed, no live person within 5 blocks radio station.

Needless to say, I have found a replacement.

I work with many people who apparently don't know Jack.

I'm not sure why Infinity decided to pull a bunch of their stations and switch to that format. I heard something on radio the other day that they were doing this all over the country (and apparently Canada). In some places it's Jack, other's it Bob or some simple name.

Basically the format is just playing a random mix of songs...no particular genre. I guess it gets them out of paying DJs.

That is the reason I got satellite radio. I am amazed at the lack of rock stations here in Dallas for the size of market that it is. The station in Dallas that I always listened to had their format changed to elevator music. The only alternative (for me) after that was Jack, which came online right about the time the other station changed format. However, they play a very wide range of music, just when I start to think they are a good rock station, they turn around and play some crap that makes you wonder if the "DJ" grabbed the wrong record (my opinion). That station is like the weather down here, if ya' don't like it, wait 5 minutes, it'll change.

Pretty soon the whole emergency warning system is going to be a joke as there won't be anyone within 1000 miles of what is happening.

Imagine a local resue official running to the radio station to put out an alert only to find a padlocked building housing a remotely administrated transmitter...

Ok, I guess that is a diffrence between here and Vancouver, we still have the dj's
actually it is the top rated station in Vancouver. They were able to obtain pretty much all the staff from another station that was number one for years (that station drifted into the hard core rock venue and lost it's market years before)
