well at least youl be on the east side where its not entirely flat. Over here on the west side its flatter than your table and way more boring. I guess if your going to be a crop scout then this corner wouldent be all bad. All thats here is corn and beans. The land around here is WAY more farmable than the east side because of the extreamly flat ground. No rivers or ponds or anything to get in the way of farming. On the east side it will be far more hilly and a lot of timber. I would say a lot more timber but a large grove has more timber than anything around here. Hope you REALY enjoy crops because thats ALL there is in IOWA. That and hunting on the east side. Forget abought any truck pulls they havent made it this far west. Some small tractor pulls but thats it. If ya ever wind on the EXTREEM north west corner give a holler, Ill show ya around this corner of the corn feild.

No kidding, that entire state is a 55 mph corn field. I hate driving in Iowa.

Ok, I know I'm stoopid, but what's a 'crop scout'?

All I can picture is some Elmer Fudd type of guy, trying to be 'vewy quiet' because he's lookin' for the 'little cwops'.

It's a little know fact, (one that we just don't talk about to city folks) that corn actually can move from place to place. Crop scouts look for better ground, less bugs, more moisture, kinda like in the old wagon train days. It's an unrewarding job because the corn is not very grateful, and they have yet to establish a "Crop Scout's Hall of Fame".

Ahh! That makes sense!

We only have about 100 acres here that gets farmed, so I've never seen a crop scout before. But I'll keep an eye out for him!

Thanks for the info!
