I was a true Redneck today

Well I was combining this afternoon and a storm was moving in and it started hailing. I couldn't stand to see my truck get hailed on so I started to throw straw over the hood, windshield ,roof any place I could. The hail I would say was a little under golf ball luckely their was no wind. Not a mark on my truck!!! I am sure the damaged on my truck wouldn't have been to bad, but I am sure it would have left some dents if it wasn't for my redneck Idea

The second day I had mine it went through a hail storm. The damage wasn't that bad and it all popped out with the hot metal cold water trick. But it still sucked watching my new rig get beat up. That was a good idea with the straw on the truck, I would have never thought of that. If it works it works.

I did take a picture. But I need the cord to hook it to my computer. I think I am going to send a picture to my insurance company explaining why I should get another discount

Don't feel bad RamRodd. I've already got a disaster plan in place for just such an event. I will strip this goofy "antique" ladder in our living room of all my wifes HANDMADE quilts to cushion the blows to my truck! They're all nice and thick. Warm too! And apparently they have all kinds of Love in every stitch!

Not IF, but When that happens. Are you looking for a roommate?

A real redneck would throw his wife over the hood to protect it, stay inside with the dog and drink beer until the storm was over.

NO do not heat the metal. Let it sit out in the sun all day until you can not even touch it without hurting your hand. Get a bucket with ice water in in and throw it over the spot that has the dents. The sudden shock of the tempature change will cause it to return to origional form. I would definately turn it in to insurance before you try this though.

we had a hail storm here about 2 weeks ago. My truck was sitting at home with a busted fuel line, it had no dents. We were driving the cavalier when the quarter sized hail started and there was no shelter to pull under so we were stuck sitting in the road getting dented up.

The body shop turned in a $3500 estimate to the insurance company, and that is assuming they can get the dents out without bodywork/paint...

BTW - There were over 500 dents in it
