i need some info on wheels. . .

i think i am going to go with h2 wheels on my truck (chrome preferably). i have found a guy in town who has some. he is asking $1850 for limited edition chrome wheels and 315 bfg's (all new). i think that is pretty high.

if you don't mind, please let me know how much you paid for your h2 rims, or h2 rims and tires. please state whether new or used & which style.

if you don't have h2's - then what price have you heard of them exchanging hands at?

thanx for any and all input, it'll help me figure out a starting point for bargaining.

Be ready to shell out a couple hundred more to have the centers opened up too, unless you have access to a machine shop.

Here is a link on how to machine out the centers of your h2 rims by yourself. Fairly easy and people have had good results doing it. I have seen the unchromed h2 rims go for $500+

That link shows what is probably the best and easiest way to open them up. I just did a second set that way and I like it too.

As far as cost goes, I paid $400. for my first set, $450. for another set. Both with slightly used 315s and no chrome. The last set of the new '08 design I paid $460 for 5 of them w/o the tires. Check out the new design you might like them better, I do.

$1,850 is very high. Maybe if they are 5 perfect ones with new tires and no shipping. But you might just look around and put a few bids on ebay first. Be patient, it works wonders with h2 wheels. Another set will pop up somewhere.

yes, i realize it's another cost on top of the purchase price to open up the centers - whether i do it myself (have to buy a tool), or have a machinist do it.

the wheels are brand new as well as the tires, but only 4 instead of 5. these are the wheels he is asking $1850 for:

4 new wheels, 4 new bfg at 315's. there will be no shipping costs, i would pick them up.

what would you guys pay for these, not what you would offer, but what you would pay (ie. what would be fair price for either party?)?

thanx,
jason
