I gotta post......

Last night, my boy crossed over into the Boy Scouts from the Cubbies.

Didn't think it would be a big event, been so long since I was a new Scout, and we did not have "events", you just went to a different place.........

Boy was I wrong. The boy had been on pins and needles for a couple of days, I asked him what the big deal was. Last night, after the meal, but before the ceremony, I went outside for a health break, and lo and behold he followed me, it struck me, he was as nervous as I was on my wedding day.........

Anyway, cut to the ceremony, as it went along, he seemed to grow an inch, and transform into a young man right before our eyes. As he went to be with his fellows, it occurred to me we that we had just let go a bit.....................

Here's to you son, make us proud!

Don't know why I felt the need to post this, but it just seemed appropriate to share it with what I consider my second family.......

Congrats to your Young man and to Mommy and Daddy

You are proud because your son took responsibility of his own advancement, completed the required tasks, and now has a feeling of accomplishment that he will cherish and pass down to his children. These motivations were taught by someone he looks up to and admires (although maybe not for long).

Congratulations sir, one more great American MAN added to the citizenry of this great nation. Thank You for sharing, and tell you son GOOD JOB from all of us!!!

Congrats Pat....... they grow up quickly.

PS: When Top was a Boy Scout, they only had two Merit Badges, making fire, and field dressing a dinosaur.

congratulations i made eagle a about 6 years ago. The problem now will be keeping him motovated to go all the way. Make sure to push him but not to hard or he will not want to do it. Just try and get him to get eagle done before the fumes get him.(truck fumes and perfume)

Congrats!!!
Nothing like a proud parent expressing his pride!!!
Especially in times like these.
Too many times we hear parents complaining about their children as opposed to holding them up high!!

Congrats to you and your son! My son is a year behind your boy (young man). I saw the same thing at the "Blue and Gold " we had for our "Cubs" that "crossed over to Scouts". My boy will be doing that a year from now. I'm an Asst. Den Leader for my son's den, and I just hope I don't start balling during his cross over!

Congratulations, and God bless him and his family! That he was that aware of the symbolism in advancement from Cub Scout to Boy Scout speaks volumes about the way he was raised. Good job!
