humm... FLAMETHROWERS!

to put flamethrowers in my stacks ill need 2 coils, 2 spark plugs, 2 plug wires, some kind of fuel (propane?) lines, jets/injectors (to inject the pane in the stacks) and the switch inside the cab. kinda like this:

so what im wanting to know is what kind of coils, plugs, fuel, and injectors it will take to do all this with.

if i can do this fairly cheep, ill put all this on and take really cool pics and vids at night with a 'little' tire smoke

i thought it would be really cool to hook up to the sled late at night, kill all the lights on the truck, kick in the flamethrowers, turn the lights back on, lay on the pete horns, and haul down the track.

i think this will be really awesome with the $200 of lights i just bought to stick on the truck.

and if i already have the bottle of pane on the truck, i just may plumb it into the intake later

I really don't want to respond because I don't want to contribute to you setting your truck on fire ( ), but wouldn't you want the fuel for the flamethrowers post combustion?

Whatever you decide to do just set up a camera and start filming once you're ready to try it out

thats funny!

yeah i would inject the fuel right before the spark plug. Which would be an inch or 2 from the end of the stack.

lol any others?

ok so i take a positive and negative wire from the battery and run it to this:

Then take that, split the wires, and run it to two of these:

Then from there into two spark plugs. (still dont know what kind! any ideas?!)

For the fuel, i guess ill use propane. will a bbq pane tank work? ill go from the tank to some kind of valve? (what could i use here? and wire it into the switch above?)
then into some small copper line that has the end hammered flat, so that there is a little gap between the two sides. Then stick this under the plug, which is about 2-3 inches from the top of the stack.

So i need to know what kind of plugs to get, and what kind of valve to use. TIA for any ideas!

There is a kit that is made specifically for this. I don't recall who makes it, however. Do search on here. You'll find the post.

For gassers, but might work with diesel and propane.

You may have a problem with soot clogging up the plug and won't get any spark. Will you rin gas lines to the inside of the cab?

I'd use a pilot light, flamethrower style.

Wouldn't have to worry about coils that way, correct?

Or you could rig up a Bic with a rubberband and servo and do it the mechanical way...

These are the ones I am installing on my son's 1962 Cadillac project car we are building.

http://www.eatmyflames.com/

It is really simple to build I was going to build him one but his wife bought him the kit.
All it is, is a simple multivibrator using a 555 for timing and a 2N3055 to switch the coils.
All of the kits need to be connected to an external non-resistor 12-volt coil and you need to weld a bung into your pipe for the spark plug.
On a gas engine when you want to shoot flames, you rev up your engine and when you push the button at the same time the plug is arcing, the switch also cuts your ignition so you are pumping out raw fuel to ignite.
They are hard on an engine because of oil dilution but they are impressive.
Some also inject atomized gasoline or propane before the plug that give them 20' -30' flames.

You probably use the same idea on a diesel but I don't think there would be anything flammable to burn in the exhaust; you would just be using the exhaust to blow out the flaming propane. You would use vapor of course but are you daring enough to use liquid?
Would probably be a good idea to have a solenoid valve on the LPG line with the coil, hate to see the engine hiccup.

I could also think to use oil burner nozzles and pumps to use your diesel fuel instead but this might cause the tips of your stacks to glow red.

You can also get them as a nice option to your car alarm.

This might be good to control Potato Bug infestation when they are crawling across your lawn or out of the skimmer pot.

This is for information only...
Don't come whining to me when you try this parked in your garage or under a tree.
