Help me stop my dog from eating my door!
we have a shed/ dog house. just a simple shed with basically a box in it. we made a removable piece of osb on it so that we can put in and remove old cedar chips. you can buy them at all sorts of stores, keeps the dogs warm, and when you put in fresh bag dang they smell good lol we made a hallway thats a yard and a half or so leading to the entrance of the "house". we made it so the dog goes in, goes 90 degrees to the right, and into the cedar chips. that way wind is blocked. not a hard concept, easy, gets the job done, and in the shed, the top of the box gives you a nifty place for storing lol
older animal will usually behave better with a companion.
My scottish terrier has a stuffed dog that she plays with all the time.
When my wife was working, my aunt would keep the dog thru the day and play with their aussie terrier.
Anyway, you might try a stuffed dog past that, another pet?

Yes, your dog is mad at you.....and bored. Obviously, it’s impossible to keep them busy all the time. Here is what I've done and has yet to fail me with a chewing dog or biting dog. After the dog has recently chewed on anything, doors... etc.... take the dog over to whatever it may be that he/she chewed on and put there nose right up to it, point out the spot they chewed on, (so they know exactly what they did wrong) tell them no and fold there top lip into their mouth under their canine and lightly apply pressure pushing the inside part of their lip (tender) into the canine just so its uncomfortable to them. Don't abuse them, just make it undesirable to them. After a few times, guaranteed to stop. They eventually associate that chewing will result in consequences. For (me), this has worked so well. Good luck and don’t abuse.
