Hope everyone survived with a minimal hangover. Well, 2022 is already starting out with a bang. Snowed all day yesterday and last night and now a high wind warning in effect until tomorrow night. Sustained winds 40 to 50mph with gusts to 75mph. With the north east winds comes the Arctic cold. We expect to hit the -20°s for the next week. If the cold isn't bad enough, add the wind chill expect to reach -35°. Me an Mr Morris aren't leaving the heater.

 

Happy New Year! Spent it in MT at the folks, -5 was all we could muster for a low and pretty calm...went thru a pretty good stack of firewood, some corn juice and lost a good cigar to a small fire...

There are times I miss Montana and time I don't. My first winter in the Bitter Root it hit -70°, and I was living in a travel trailer. Lots of good hunting, hiking, and fishing.

 

Whoa, deepest I have been is -25 and that was flippin cold! You wouldn't miss it much nowaday's. So many newcomers and strip malls around Kalispell. Missoula looks like the outskirts of Vegas....

 

Happy new year. The coffee is cold stale actually I'd make a fresh pot but even the dragon ain't here

 

Sad to say the dragon died of loneliness and starvation. The remains have been taken to a taxidermist and will be placed on display in the break room along with some other historical items like the concrete bed liner, the shrew, moon boots, and 8 track tapes. The seal was last spotted far up north.
