Anti virus protection

I've had it with Trend micro. Their customer service socks. Bitdefender, Kaspersky, Norton, and Macafee are the top rated. Any suggestions?

I just stand in the magnum and pull it up to my waist, works great if I remember to take off my golf shoes first....

I liked Norton, now we have something else and I can't remember the name of it....

virus protection

I have had Norton for at least 5 years and have had NO problems. With both Kapersky and McAfee I got hacked and McAfee adds all kinds of bloatware that can not be uninstalled. Mike

I had Kaputski in the past and wasn't impressed. McDonaldfee came as a free trial with my computer. Ya, loaded with junk. And the worst part was it took forever to completely delete it from my computer. My only beef with Norton is they nickel and dime you to death. I will most likely go with Bitdefender. Top rated, has all the features Trend Micro has and much more, for about the same price. Licensed for 3 devices so I can also install it on my Android phone which Trend Micro charges separately for.

Stay away from BitDefender! It immediately crashed my computer, and their customer service totally sucks. Got some gal from India that couldn't understand English. I had to finally restore from an earlier image. Now I am fighting with them over a refund.

Update: Got my money back and I'm now running Malwarebytes along with Trend Micro. Seem to be doing the trick.

I'm on and off with Avira - free version. And the basic Microsoft stuff. No issues.

I hate computers. Unfortunately, we are forced to have one. Wasted 2 days fixing my wife's (was my old one) computer because 2 ant-virus programs started fighting with each other after an update. Got fed up and went to delete them both. Then it was like watching 2 kids fight over the last ice cream bar. Crashed the machine hard. Long story short, after a forced shutdown and restart my onboard diagnostic software came on and repaired the damage using backups and images then completed deleting the anti-virus programs. I took a chance and reinstalled the programs and they are all happy together, Trend Micro, Malware bytes, and Windows defender.
