He regularly hunts quail, deer and turkey. I've lost count of what my oldest owns since he started paying for his own guns. He bow hunts, muzzleloader hunts, and hits the doe and buck seasons with his Ruger .243. They both also do a lot of target shooting both on my rifle range and skeet range. The oldest is a heck of a shot with my .357 Blackhawk also.
That was what I was saying. I got my first hunting license at the age of 6, at the time, according to their records, I was the youngest person in Ohio to successfully complete the hunters safety course. I still have all my old licenses somewhere...

Got tired of the little stuff, my son got me started on .50 BMG, got myself a couple of Barretts. 8 inch group at 1000 yards is fun, but the muzzle blast is beyound belief.

I don't have any.

Considered a powerful pistol or a 12 gauge for home defense.. but the more i think about it, the more i realize theres alot more stories about people being killed in their homes than there are of "heroes who stopped the burglar".. so.. gunless for now.

Dont have time to go to any ranges, otherwise id own some nice rifles.

That's because "heros who stopped the burglar" don't always make the news.

Check NRA's Armed Citizen column.

The "hero who stopped the burglar" cannot make the news. however,
The "crackhead that shot his kid" will always lead the news.

See, if the guns were illegal, then the crackhead would obviously not own a gun and therefore wouldn't have hurt anyone, because we all know crackheads are fine upstanding monthly check recievers that contribute soooo much to the community.

Dancing on a razor's edge. It seems to me that such a thing would be quite painful on the feet.

- my question about the 1886 / .45-70 was leading towards a "what's your favorite load for the rifle" scenario....

This is true, but I'm hesitant to tap the market on those because I know I'd get sued when some silly DTR member tried to wear them while swimming.
