El-cheapo Hohner (didn't want to spend too much $$$ on something that would probably just collect dust
)I really wish I could have gotten ahold of my brother's 12-string after he died, but his wife won't tell us where it is (probably with all the other stuff in the storage unit she failed to pay for and got auctioned off....
). That was one sweet sounding guitar.
I have played bass in a little band for the past several years. Our biggest deal was opening for Gary Pucket and the Union Gap Band in Deadwood, S.D. We play mostly classic rock, 50's and 60's with a good dose of 70's and occassional 80's and 40's. We also have several sets worth of classic country. We have a large playlist and can usually "feel" a crowd and zero in on what's working in different venues. It is not unusual to hear a Metallica cover and a Gene Autry in the same night at one of our Gigs.
My beloved is a Fender Deluxe J-Bass; Mexican with American electronics. I usually play through two Peavey TNT 150's daisy chained together or through either our PA or the House System depending on the Venue. There are some Ampeg rigs calling my name however. I have an old Yamaha accoustic which is my campfire friend, a Fender DG10CE for the occasional plugged in accoustic Jam, Fender BG-30 accoustic bass, and an ancient Upright Bass outfitted with electronics for the "Old-School" jams. Oh yeah, I also have a Gibson Marauder that I bought new in 1978 because Paul Stanley endorsed it.
Hardley a day goes by that I don't practice either the accoustic guitar or bass for at least an hour.
