Question GPAA any members here? (any prospectors)

Any of you DTR guys members of the GPAA or the LDMA???

GPAA = Gold Prospector's Association of America

LDMA = Lost Dutchman's Mining Assocaiation (part of the GPAA)

Any hobby prospectors on here that are not members?

Used to be a GPAA member years ago out in San Diego ... haven't been panning for about 8 years though. My old man was a mining engineer he had me around panning and running sluice boxes when I was still in diapers .

You have any luck panning ?? I always wanted to make the panning trip to Alaska that they always talk about on the tv show Gold Fever. Sure looks like it would be a blast.

Cheers,

Ya, GPAA has some claims right close to here around Randsburg, plus my Granddad was a PHD geologist so we've been allover, running sluices, dredges, rocker-boxes, detecting and panning, When I can get out we get some good results, at least its there, not getting rich but its fun and it adds up. Now that Gold is on the rise I am trying to get my brother to go in on a recirculating high-banker and really do it for real! If gold hits 1000 you wont be able to keep me out of the hills! I am hoping this big rain is going to open up some fresh placer deposits, been so long everything is really picked over! Flood baby flood!

Heck yeah !! I guess I shoulda packed my pan with me during the flood up in Centralia Washington. Lots of "new" dirt was left in the parking lot. Coulda got lucky, ya never know.

It is a great pasttime that more families should get into. You know where your kids are at all times, it's healthy and like you said ... it is there for the taking !!

Are you a current GPAA / LDMA member ? They sent me a big ol book with maps to open claims located all over the country. We checked out a couple of desert spots but ended up doing more 4x4 time in the jeep than out panning. Still a great time.

Wink

Yup, Always try to order the "buzzard" special so I can get another green/riffle pan and snuffer bottle!

Ya man always good to check it out after floods, My personal favorite are corrugated road culverts, the riffles do all the work for you!
