Same here but business is waaaay off. As little as 6-7 months ago we were booking an avg of 100 cars a day for a 17 man shop, avg 55-60 hours a week easily. Today we had 40 cars booked, I did 6.2 hours myself, and tomorrow we have 35....it is NOT looking good out there.

I'm sooooo happy that IU work for a public service. they will always need cops and i have a feeling with a poor economy comes higher crime rates

Cummins freak i have one problem with that in the 70's it was so bad they were laying off cops and firemen !!! Trust me your not safe either! Right now your lucky!

I don't envy you flat rate techs out there. Did it for a little over 4 years and did'nt just jump ship, loaded myself in a cannon and lit the fuse to get the heck away from that.....stuff.

Also glad I did'nt take the job with the post office last spring, who turns down an offer of a job from the Post Office?? ME!!

There are little pockets of work around here in my current business. Staying afloat and that's about it.

I would say I'm fairly safe out here in ND. I was just hired on jan 5th. I'm actually in training right now.

It is really up and down for us. one day we will clear 130 hours in the shop, the next 20, day after that 100, than 110 than 40.

but this month the weather has been killing it for us.
