Got an e-mail from Mexstan... moving stuff.

Evenin, DTR...
I got an e-mail from my buddy Stan, he asked me to post it and share.

Thanks, Stan.

WHEN A SOLDIER COMES HOME
This email is being circulated around the world-please keep it going.

When a soldier comes home, he finds it hard....

....to listen to his son whine about being bored.

....to keep a straight face when people complain about potholes.

....to be tolerant of people who complain about the hassle of getting ready for work.

....to be understanding when a co-worker complains about a bad night's sleep.

....to be silent when people pray to God for a new car.

....to control his panic when his wife tells him he needs to drive slower.

....to be compassionate when a businessman expresses a fear of flying.

....to keep from laughing when anxious parents say they're afraid to send their kids off to summer camp.

....to keep from ridiculing someone who complains about hot weather.

....to control his frustration when a colleague gripes about his coffee being cold.

....to remain calm when his daughter complains about having to walk the dog.

....to be civil to people who complain about their jobs.

....to just walk away when someone says they only get two weeks of vacation a year.

....to be forgiving when someone says how hard it is to have a new baby in the house.

The only thing harder than being a Soldier....

Is loving one.

I was asked to pass this on, and I will gladly do so.

Will you???

That is the absolute truth. I sometimes make comments like "are you kidding me" when I hear people complain about simple inconveniences. They just look at you like you are retarded.

Stan thanks for sending out to the Hat.
Mark thanks for posting it!

Thanks for the reminder. Nephew (101st) got back from his last 18 months. He is finding it hard to relate. Posts like this let him know that we are trying to understand his discomfort when he is dealing with people who get bent out of shape over a plugged toilet or no ice in their drinks.. We sure do owe a lot to our vets, past and present.

Thanks for the reminder to have gratitude for what I/we have and to have thanks for the folks that go out and do what they do so I can be here with my family. Several of my family served and so have friends of mine...some still are out there.

THANK-YOU

Scotty

Side question... 5th picture down, why are the front lights all taped over?

Last two for me...

Night movements. There is a blackout switch in the hummers, but it is on the same switch as the headlights, and when you get moving through rough terrain, sometimes crap gets hit, and the lights come on.

Also, if there is a light source, it will reflect off the headlights before it reflects off of anything else.

If you need me to elaborate, I can. Not that I know anything about desert warfare...
