getting a brake rotor off.
getting a brake rotor off.
O.k. I have a 2000 Chevy Metro as a work car. ( hey, it gets 40+ MPG ) and the rotors are totally fried. This car is way down on the priority totem pole as far as maintenance goes.
I can not seem to get the front rotor off. I have the axle nut of of course but it seems to be gaulded on or somethng. I have hit the bejesus out of it with a hammer but it will not budge.
Do I actually have to use a gear puller to get this rotor off ? I was always under the impression that rotors pretty much just slipped off with a light tap of a hammer once the axle nut was off.
Any ideas?

I believe that car is made in korea, most korean cars that my shop has dealt with has rotors that need to be pressed out of the bearing assembly, usually it is a pain, once the assembly is pressed out you can and should service the wheel bearings while there. Good luck
