Get your physical

I know this has been talked about on here before and I dont want to sound like your wife or family, but I have 3 freinds all diagnosed w/ prostate cancer in last 2 months. 2 of which are very close freinds, one is only 44 years old. Go to the doctor and get the checkup, I have and yea its uncomfortable but worth it to not have to go thru what they are now because they were to manly to go to in the first place. They all regret not going for the annual checkup, most times simple blood work can answer most questions or reveal a potential problem.

Signed -- Your Wife and Family

i just wish there was a way to do the test that did not include the finger wave. for crying out loud, in this day of modern medical science, they still gotta use a latex glove and knuckles?

The company I work for has just initiated a compusory yearly physical. I had mine this AM. Everything checked out OK. Now I just want to go home and have a shower after it.

It is a good idea, though. Catching problems early can save your life.

There is a different way. If you go regularly its only a blood test. If the PSA comes back elevated then you go hands on.
After that it's a needle biopsy!!!!

I hope you all will follow Mules advice, it is sound and it can save your lives.

I have had a radioactive pellet since December 2003. I don't have any problems whatsover after that.
Now that doesn't count the thyroid cancer that was discovered February 05.
I'm still kicking! Slower, but kicking.

Please go to the Dr. regularly. You can't exercise this away. I did all of that.

Two things.... First off guys, this is NOT an excuse for you to post in a manner that is inappropriate for our women and children members.

Secondly, do as the man said and get checked out. Just a little blood sample and they can tell if there is a problem or not, things HAVE changed in that regard.

I dont know what you do for a living - but I would have some real concerns about the companies motive.

To me, that is a serious invasion of your rights and personal privacy. They may have the best intentions, but that tactic sure wouldnt work on me.

I also hope I did not cross the line on comments -- I just wanted to make everyone think about their health and families.

It was not compulsary where I worked for 35 years, but was a free trip after 40 YO. I did not consider it an invasion of my priviacy, but something that I NEEDED to do, and got it done for free. If a company has a lot of $$$ invested in you, they want to keep you healthy.

One of these free trips and a followup confirmed my prostate cancer. Like 02CTD, I had the seeds and have never looked back or regretted it.

Healthcare north of the border is completely different than in the U.S. I dont have to pay to get a physical. If I want to go and have a physical - it should be up to ME - NOT my employer.

Sorry guys, I definitly dont mean to start anything here...just giving my opinion, right or wrong...
