Game gone to far
I was watching the news yesterday and they were talking about this new game that just came out called JFK RELOADED or something like that. Anyway I guess the object of the game is to try and shoot JFK as he motors by.
When I heard this I couldn't belive it, I pray that the game gets pulled. I can't belive how warp some people are. |
The MFG claims its educational. [eyecrazy]

You pray that the game get's pulled? I may be alone, but I se that as censorship and an abridgement of freedom. Game sounds like fun, I regret to say. It'd be cool to see how much better you can do than Oswald. You probably get extra points for headshots- if you get over two headshots, you can probably unlock secret weapons! Of course it would be educational- like, you can see if it is an easier shot from the grassy knoll or book suppository. (Or is that a rectum pill?) Or, you can see how much more carnage could have been done if Oswald had a mini-gun instead of a bolt-action rifle! Sounds like great educational fun to me!
I'd only buy it if I can unlock the Abraham Lincoln level. |
News reported it's $10 to play and the MFG pays out something like 100 grand to the person who fires the 3 shots in the exact timeframe & exact trajectory as L.H.O.
From washpost: To have players pretend to be Lee Harvey Oswald, crouch on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository with a rifle, and fire those three shots is bad enough. But, for the game's critics, it gets worse. It costs $10 to play, and the company that created it is supposedly offering $100,000 in prize money -- where that will come from isn't clear -- for the player who re-creates the exact timing and angle of the shots that killed the nation's 35th president. |

http://www.jfkreloaded.net/ so how is this different from all the other first person shooters out there where the goal is to kill as much as possible |
I think the object of the game is to prove that Lee Harvey didn't act alone.
The players of the game will find out that you can't get a clean shot from where Oswald supposedly shot from. Unless you add in some Alien influence to get the bullets to make 45 degree turns. Conspiracy theorists run amok. phox |
Not only that, but how can you fire 3 shots from a high powered bolt action in such quick succession? It would take at least 2 seconds to recover from recoil, throw the bolt, and get the cross-hairs back on that small target.

We will never know........:(

I think the difference between first person shooter games and this "Let's see if you can kill the President in the same manner" game - is just that. It sort of leans a little too far in the direction of it's ok to shoot the President of the United States.
You can call it censorship if you wish but in my rule book this game should never have seen the light of day. This to me glorifies (sp?) the shooting of the President, it's making a mockery of what happened to one of our Presidents - that is poor judgement in my book. I do hope that it gets shot down very quickly. |
I think the game is a completely stupid idea and in seriously bad taste. I also think anyone who buys and/or plays these sorts of games is equally retarded morally.
Sensorship, smensorship .... some things NEED to be controlled to prevent our morals and lifestyle to corrode even further. "Sounds like great educational fun to me!" .... geez  I bet the story would be different if the game was called "How they shot Begle 1's closest family member". I bet you wouldn't say a word about sensorship. Go back into your cave, bud. PISTOL |
Yah what pistol said. If this game is good for some maybe the next should be.
1. Recreate 911 2. Cholumbine (sp?) recreated or the most recent 3. Deer hunting in Wi. what a morbid country [yuk] |
This "game" is just another classic example of whats wrong with the world today.
The sad part is, this game will sell like crazy making loads of money, and encouraging more of the same. If people wouldn't buy this crap, there wouldn't be so much of it. |

I think the makers of the game mainly intended to peeve people off, and to generate hype.
A bit off topic, but a few years back I met a retired FBI agent who had an interesting thory. I forget the details, but Oswald had not had the greatest experience in the military, with several people there he may have had reason to dislike, and he never had very advanced marksmanship training... Anyhow, he did the math on the distance of the shot, velocity and BC of the round, speed of the car, and so forth... In order to hit Kennedy, Oswald would have had to be leading by 3 or 4 feet, meaning his point of aim would be about where the driver was- and he happened to be one of the military folks Oswald could have had a reason to have a grudge against... Anyhow, I wish I could remember the details (name of the driver, and what his previous interaction was), but I thought it was an interesting idea. Most people who have only shot at stationary targets would have aimed at what they wanted to shoot, and hit several feet behind. I wonder if you have to lead Kennedy in the game? |
