apparently you can go to jail for that
apparently you can go to jail for thatWell, if it was in a 4-wheel vehicle that is a speeding ticket. Bikes don't really count for that kind of stuff. They speed at their own risk...

Got my first ticket about 2 weeks ago. Was comming home from work and for some reason I wanted to get home quick. I merged on a 3 lane freeway, 2 big rigs were taking up the 2 far right hand lanes. I smashed the go pedal and hoped in the farthest lane to the left(fast lane). Speed limit on the road is 70mph, I flew past the to trucks doing 95-100mph, I seen 2 bright lights up ahead off the side of the road, it hit my breaks quick and was clocked at 87mph. So $152 later I was on my way home.
The cop got a little mad w/ me. He came to my passanger side door and taped on the glass with his mag light, I didn't reach across the cab to open the door for a second or two(I have no automatic windows or door locks). I just came from California and it's best to be cool witht he cops and not make any sudden rash movements. When I did open the door he asked me in a testy voice "Why didn't you open the door/window when I spoke to you. I explaied my situation and he said thanks for looking out.

apparently you can go to jail for thatThat one beats anything I got written up for, not that I didn't deserve it though!!! but that was in my teenage muscle car from the late 60's. I know there are several cops that wanted to lock me up and throw away the key, if they could have caught me. But I got enough other tickets to end up on hi risk ins for several years to learn it doesn't pay to drive agressively. Plus now the roads are so full of people that you can't drive too fast without endangering the lives of others around you.

In the late 60's, I was headed home from Dam Neck, VA on leave. I-40 was still under construction in Tennessee and I blasted through a little town (Crossville) that was split by I-40. The overpass had a 35 mph sigh on it and when I went under it, got tagged. Good thing their radar gun only went to 99 mph. Not sure how fast I was running, but the old Norton was sitting on about 5500 rpm's when I saw them. $37.50 later and I was gone. The chief of police was also the judge. After about 6 months of their little speed trap, they got shut down.
The most rediculous one was here on post for doing 60% above the posted limit. That's how it was written up. I was doing 8 in a 5 (eight in a five). Went to court on that one. The judge threw out well over 100 of those Charlie Sierra (not quite his exact words) that day. After the security chief lost 50 or so pounds of his ****, the post PD have been real nice.

I havent ever received one( a few warnigns tho)..........but I have given out a few....
My best speeding story:
Rookie and I were running stationary radar in a 20mph school zone around 3pm........ kid tops the hill, we clock and lock at 143 mph( in the school zone mind you) his radar detector must have went off, 'cause he locked them up hard and skidded off the road, flipped SEVEN TIMES before coming to rest upside down ina pasture( rural county area)......... we wrote him for the speed, and charged him criminaly with reckless driving and 8 felony counts of child endangerment( thats how many elementary school kids were along side the road in the area) plus pssession of MJ and DUI. He pled out and I beleive that episode cost him around 60K plus whatever it cost to replace his totalled vehicle and his hospital bills.............
I wish we had cameras in the cars back then......

A few months ago I got pulled over in the CTD and had no clue why cuase i was not even up to the speed limit yet. Cop walks up and asked for my lic. and reg. so I hand him my permit and my dad lic. an the reg.. He looks over them and asked "Do you know why I pulled you over?" my response "No Sir,I don't know",He says "I pulled you over for excessive aclleration(sp?) & loud exhuast"( I was rowing through the gears and shifting between 2000-2500rpm & the exhaust is stock). I said "Sir, I am not going to deny the excessive acelleration, but my exhuast system is a stock", his response " Thanks for being honest, but are you sure their is no holes in the exhaust cuase when you went by me I could here a whistle and the engine sounded pretty loud." I was like "The whistle was the turbo and the engine was loud cuase it isdiesel",he was like "Ok, I will be right back." He comes back and hand me a warning and says " I am going to give you a warning becuase you were honest and you have a permit" I said "Thansk you Sir". Then he asks " Can you start up the truck and let me hear it? I have a Ford and it is not that loud". So I started it up and revved it a few times, needless to say he was very impressed with the truck, He went back to his car and I pulled out and started rowing through the gears again.

I've had two scares in two days driving down to UC. Yesterday, I got off the norwood lateral onto 71 south, was behind some slow cars so I went for the hammer lane, and wound her up tight to about a buck, maybe a buck ten and all of a sudden I see lights on this van beside me. CINCINNATI HAS VANS WITH LIGHTS!!! I DIDN"T KNOW THAT!!! I backed off of him and he kept on rolling and turned off the lights. Then I say him around the next corner, lights on behind a car, and he got the car slowed down and just turned the lights off and kept rolling. Seemed kinda strange to me.
Then today, coming north on 71, running with traffic, maybe 70 in a 55, full grown polar bear on the left shoulder, and I see him turn around and get in his car, figured I had a danged ticket, only to see him get back out. Must not have got a good shot or something. Stupid me should of had the CB on, then I would have known about the wreck on 75 that dang near caught me too.
Best, or worse depending on how you look at it, ticket so far was 78 in a 55. Cincinnati city kitty on north 71 about the 5/4 marker. $160 later I was in the clear. That was in the old truck, pert near got in a wreck in that one.

I knew this guy from Jordan who used to drive bakersfield to las vegas one time caught going 140 and next time 160 and they said they would deport him if he reached those speeds again
