Federal diesel rebates question
My buddy just bought a Jetta TDI. One of the articles on one of these posts mentioned the new instituted Federal rebate on fuel efficient vehicles. I had heard of it before but this got me thinking.... How do you go about getting the rebate?
Thanks. |
I think this is something you'd talk to your tax guy about. I believe it is a tax credit that is the "rebate".

i wish it applied to us diesel truck owners.....that would be nice.

If I remember, the vehicle had to be specifally listed to qualify for the tax break.

I could be wrong, but I think that the rebates only apply to Hybrid vehicles. It is a $2000 tax deduction per car.
Vehicles approved by IRS as of Nov. 14, 2005. Ford Escape Hybrid 2005-2006 Honda Accord Hybrid 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid 2003-2005 Honda Insight 2000-2005 Lexus RX 400h 2006 Mercury Mariner Hybrid 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid 2006 Toyota Prius 2001-2005 Even though the Jetta gets good fuel mileage it doesn't fall under the "clean fuel" deduction. But like I said, I could be wrong. Britt :) |
our trucks would not apply the EPA does not even list guesstimated fuel mileage for them :D
