I imagine a few more will pop in, they'll say how they "listen to all types of music". This is just a cover statement to ease the sting of everyone thinking
YOU listen to RAP?? (Ever??)
I would venture to say that Rap stays under 12 and less than 10%.
I can listen to anything, that's the main difference between the younger guys and the old heads. You get a 4
38-45 yr. old around some rap/pop or hi-hop, you'd think their ears are gonna fall off if they have to continue to hear it. There will be all kinds of broad comments such as "How do you listen to this stuff" and "I can't understand one word they are saying"
I tend to believe that most of this is still Racism and the lack of social flexibility that still grips our older generations.
I don't like the Rap stuff either but during my generation a lot of the older folks were jumping up and down screaming and preaching that Elvis was corrupting the youth.

My car radio is almost always on classic rock. Most of my cd's are Texas music. Robert Earl Keen, Pat Green,Jason Boland. Stevie Ray Vaughn is awesome. Like most here, I like just about any music except rap, cos it aint music. Saw David Allen Coe live Friday night.

Americana

I'm for what is sometimes called Americana, but probably resembles country most closely, Robert Earl Keen, Reckless Kelley, High Speed Hayride, Joe Ely, Ray Wylie Hybbard, and the like.

See that is where my wife and I dis-agree. Tim, Barf (opps, Garth), Clint Black, and the others are NOT country. They are Southern Rock. Waylon, Willie, Cash (Johnny & June), Bob Wills, Rascal Flatts, Buck Owens, ect. are all TRUE country.
I got an XM radio for Christmas in 2004, and for the most part, I like it. However, they play way too much Darryl Singletary (? spelling), and newer singers ont the 'Older Country' station (XM10- America). They even play NEW people trying to sing in the older style, like Darryl Dodd????, and others. I wish they would stick to the traditional country music, and singers on that station.
If anybody has a Sirius, add-on unit, and has thought about going to XM, I would be willing to trade units so you (and I ) could see what the other one has to offer.

Sean and Rush are music to my ears.... JK.

I do listen to a lot of NPR, but sometimes have to throw one of my lesser known CD's in, if I can find one not all banged up.
