Enviro terrorism?

Saw a spoof on the tube last night where they think in a possible act of Enviro terrorism someone burned several high dollar homes under construction down in Maryland. There were being built next to a wetlands area. I dont want development myself, but its gonna happen. So how does this kinda act help the enviroment? Lets see, pollute the near wetlands by hosing down burning materials and allowing runoff, make smoke, pollute the air, when they rebuild it will now take twice the wood/mayerials etc it originally needed. It dont pan out? any enviros wanna explain this?

We've had a couple lumberyards torched by the E.L.F here.
(environmental liberation front, or something ridiculous like that)

Same questions, how are they helping anything?

The only thing I can see that is gained by this, is they bring a spotlight to their cause. Of course it also shines the light on how ludicrous their actions are in relation to their agenda

Frankly I think the best thing you can do is not even report these things, don't give these wackos even 5 seconds of fame

It really made me wonder where their minds were at when ELF torched that Hummer/GM dealership in CA, sending all the toxic pollutants into the air........there were claims that more toxins were sent into the air that night when the Hummers burned up than what all the trucks would have generated in their entire operating lives.........if you really cared about the environment you would not go looking for things to set on fire to prove your point ..........the only point that is proved to me is that these are some mixed up people that are committing urban terrorism

I was told by someone PITA allowed puppies to dring antifreeze to kill them. This would prevent them from suffering at the hands of the terrible human owners. Last year on Catalina Island I was told a envori org killed every wild pig on the island because they were eating some endangered plant. thats nature taking its course, who cares. Thats manupilating mother nature IMO, once again crossing the line of right and wrong.

Every cause has its wacos.

I think we should start the DFCL (Destroy Fords & Chevys Front)

And start burning them to the ground!

(You all know I'm kidding right? )

Seriously, whenever radicalism is preached violance seems to follows. Anti abortionists shooting doctors & nurses, Palistinians blowing up jewish city buses and pizza huts, blacks shooting whites and visa versa. Where ever there is hate preached is always seems to spill over into violence.

The Enviro groups have good intentions, but like many organizations they let emotions and personal feelings/opinions dictate actions rather than facts. I remember the animal rights groups that set free all of the mink on a furrier farming operation. The little carcasses of the mink were found all over the country side, since the farm raised animals had no clue what to eat and no fear of predators. The coyotes, weasels, hawks, and owls made short work of them. So, what humanity was served? A quick death followed by a useful purpose was traded for starvation or predation, and decomposing bodies with no practical use. The insurance paid out on the loss, the furrier recovered (mostly) and the activists were caught.

Look what happens to activists who protest abortion?? That guy who went so far as to snipe doctors. Or those who torch clinics. Hasn't really solved anything, and the pro-choice side just recruits more celebrities and sucks in more money.

Those enviros are heretics, just like what we are dealing with in the middle east. The only way they can ever help their cause is thru education. That education, however, may help them to realize that things are not so bad right now. Could they be better? Sure could, but not by ticking off joe public. A week after they torched that Hummer Dealership, I went out and bought one, I probably would have anyway but they helped me make the final decision.

If you're an extremist then you're probably insane. Problem is, not all extremists think they're extreme.

In regards to killing wild pigs...usually these are feral animals that were put there by humans to start with, so killing them is just undoing human manipluation. We have this problem all over north Texas and you can hunt them any time of year because they're not supposed to be there to start with. I'm all in favor of erasing our mistakes when we can, and wild hogs taste real good too!
