E-bay trouble
Re:E-bay trouble
Keep his emails if you haven't tossed them already. Just cuz he said he's shipped it doesn't mean squat. When you get the product in hand and are satisfied with it (don't hold your breath on this one), post a neutral saying something to the effect that "He's a very difficult seller to deal with. Check the NEGATIVES". It's bad enough dealing with EBay as an entity, then you have to put up with jerks like this one. I haven't been on EBay for a long time, perhaps it's just as well. Now I have a new hobby, CTD'S ;D ;D

~Dave
Re:E-bay trouble
Wait till you get the product then leave negative. Tell them leave feedback with what happened so other buyers don't have the same problem as you. I ordered a pressure switch for my air ride got it 2 weeks later then expected. Didn't work sent it back last month and have the ups transaction that says he signed for it. I have never seen a new one or heard from him since he got it back and he still has my 89.00 US dollars and I have nothing.
Re:E-bay trouble
I agree with the above. Wait until you get the product and THEN leave a VERY negative feedback response. Personally, I'd report him to eBay as well (not that it would do any good).
Oh yeah...next time be sure you do a little research on who you're buying stuff from. There are plenty of good, honest sellers on eBay.
Note: When I say "VERY negative feedback", I mean for you to leave negative, yet truthful and CIVIL comments. Don't say the kind of stuff about him you've been saying on here. Don't stoop to his level. :
Something along the lines of, "Will not purchase from this seller again. See other's negative feedback."

Re:E-bay trouble
doodah,
Sounds like I met your e-bay seller a Snowbird in AZ. At the RV Resort where I stayed he would set up his desk top computer and go on line for 2-3 hours hogging the modem connection. (time limit 1 hour)
He had manila folders stuffed with papers he would shuffle constantly. Since he hwas on my time and tole me plainly, what the H--L you gonna do about it. I started reading the emails he was sending his customers. Most were "you didn't do this" or I still need this before I'll ship". To make matters worse, this guy did not speak fluent English and would have difficult to understand on a phone.
Personally the whole E-Bay system gives sellers too much opportunity to take your money and run. I don't do business in cyber space unless it is a known merchant that can be checked out independently, no e-mail addresses for me.

Re:E-bay trouble
To escrow type in escrow in a search engine, find a company you want to deal with (private me if you want the one I use). They charge a fee to act as the middleman but when I am buying tools and such (2 or 3 thousand dollars at a time) I feel the fee is justified, as I save alot buying over the internet. Seller ships the item, I get it and inspect it, I release payment, he gets paid. If the item is junk or does not show up the seller does not get paid. I also stopped using UPS. Damage and lost shipments were wild. Lost a drill that the driver says he left around back. Yeah right.....
