Dyno type comparison

Did a little calling around today to get some info on local dyno shops. One of the local guys has a Dynojet 248. He says he has the inductive pickup to measure torque and he claims the unit is good to 1800 HP and 1800 ft/lbs of torque. He also has hoses and an exhaust system to get rid of the smoke if need be.

What I would like to know is if this is a good unit to run our trucks on. Is this the type that will allow us to build good boost? Are the readings accurate or are they too high/low?

Hoping to plan a dyno day for the Minnesota area sometime in the next couple of months or so and I want it to be a quality dyno if possible.

Sign this guy up or keep looking? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I don't quite understand is he saying that he has something to measure torque separately. A dyno has no ability to measure H.P. without first measuring torque. the horsepower reading is a mathematical result of torque at a given RPM.
H.P.= torque x rpm so if he is not knowledgeable best to find someone else.

I guess I mis stated that. He just meant he has the inductive pick up for measuring diesel rpm.

Mine was run on a Dynojet (not sure of the model).
I saw 231hp & 468 TQ for my best run.

Some say the Mustang dyno is better.

I think it depends on your level of performance, and what you're actually looking for.
